I lost the key to the side door of my house - one key for both the knob and dead bolt. I was thinking of replacing it with a new set of locks (which is not cheap), so, I called Ace Hardware to ask if they carry a specific brand. But, when the salesman learned that I just lost my key, he recommended I call Doug to have a key made from the existing door locks. I removed the dead bolt lock from the door and brought it to Doug and in about 10 minutes I had the key and a spare. From the way he talked and went about his business, I could see that Doug is a real professional. And his price is reasonable! When we finally decided to change the front door lock on our home, I found Spare Key through the internet. I had never used a locksmith in town before, so I wasn't sure how long it might take me to get the job done. Doug answered, told me how to remove the current lock from my door, and within 20 minutes I was in his shop. I never expected a trip to the locksmith to be such a pleasure. The decision to change the lock was to prevent an adult child of ours (who doesn't live with us) from disrespectfully entering at all hours; a very difficult thing for a mother to do. I explained the circumstances to Doug, as he could see the decision was bothering me, and he actually encouraged me and said I was doing the right thing. Although my husband and I are in agreement with this decision, it was so nice to just run into someone who understood, and gave me that extra bit of encouragement I needed at that moment. In addition, he was incredibly reasonably priced, and before I left, Doug directed me to his refrigerator and insisted I take a cold drink to go. This folks, is how you run a successful business. I moved hee in February, and am unfamiliar with the area. I locked myself out of the house, and my fiancé was out of town. I called Doug after doing a Google search, and I am so glad I did. He got here very quickly, and was very professional. He accessed the house with no problems, and wasn't phased by my barking dogs. I will definitely call him if I need him in the future.
